Byways of Steam 13 has a number of photos of 1080 at Junee. Page 117 shows it lifting 4 wheel coal hoppers from their underframes to dump coal onto the coal storage heap on 26/1/1961. Page 129 has a number of photos of 1080 rerailing 3405 after a head on collission at Uranquinty on 17/3/1948. Page 142 shows 1080 sitting in Junee yard under tarps in April 1967. Page 145 has two photos of 1080 retrieving 1036 from the Junee turtable pit during 1952.

The photos below and the one at the top of this page wree taken by the author at the Junee Roundhouse openday 5th October 1997. 1080 was in steam, periodically during the day it moved under its own power, together with its match truck and a 4 wheel "S" openwagon, from its stall in the roundhouse to an area outside where it would lift the "S" truck from the rails using the auxilliary hoist, swing it about a bit, rerail the truck and then proceed back into the roundhouse.
