Several research expeditions to Bateman's Bay in New South Wales, supported by the Hermon Slade Foundation and the Australian Museum, have successfully collected large assemblages of invertebrates from many species of large marine algae. These species identifications will allow us to measure the biodiversity and substrate affinity of the animals associated with benthic marine algae. Our study will provide more information on plant-animal interactions, local species distributions and possibly marine products. |

Collaborators: Currently, staff at the Australian Museum are identifying the mobile invertebrate animals to species level, according to our research plan. New species, especially Asellota and other isopods, will be sought. |
