Alan Pert was born and bred in Sydney, Australia. In 1971 he graduated from the University of Sydney with the Bachelor of Economics degree. He gained his Graduate Diploma in Librarianship from the Canberra College of Advanced Education in 1981. Since 1988 he has been a librarian at his alma mater.
For many years he has studied comparative religion and the Western Mystery Tradition, including the Hermetic philosophy. The works of William Blake give endless inspiration and insight into human life. He has spent many a shining hour immersed in occult and mystic law.
He enjoys music, poetry, walking, meditation, yoga, and haunts of ancient peace. His final ambition is to live in the mountains like a carefree Daoist, writing nature poetry.
"I came to Anna Kingsford via vegetarianism and my study of the esoteric,
especially the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn."
